Cemetery of the Congregation of Holy Cross Religious
Located near the museum on the campus of Stonehill College
The Rosaries that drape his stone are left by visitors who remove a Rosary but often times replace it with another. We are not certain where this custom originated, however when you find yourself there, please offer a prayer for the person who left their Rosary.
Prayer for the intercession of Venerable Patrick Peyton:
God, our Father, your wisdom is displayed in all creation and the power of your grace is revealed in the lives of holy people, who inspire us to trust you more fully and to serve others more generously.
In a unique way, you blessed the life and work of your servant Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., and made him a fervent apostle of Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary and Mother of us all.
Through his intercession, we ask for this favor ...
Please grant it, if it is for your honor and glory, through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Directions: Turn left out of the Museum and take another left at the light (onto Belmont St). Turn into the Stonehill College entrance and (or ask for directions) follow the main road until you pass the baseball fields. Take a left at the stop sign. Near the end of the road is a brick-enclosed garden where the Holy Cross Brothers are buried. Fr. Peyton's grave is on the right side.
You can park on the side of the road.
Open during daylight hours.
