FAQs

Question: How is a pilgrimage different from a vacation?

Answer: A pilgrimage differs from going on a trip for leisure, sightseeing, or historical learning. A pilgrimage provides the opportunity for one to seek God through spiritually enriching moments via the sacraments, the saints, and a sanctifying experience of the holy shrines and churches. A pilgrimage allows one to awaken their prayer life, their love for God, and immerse oneself in the historical, holy treasures of our Faith.

Question: What type of spiritual preparations should one do prior to the pilgrimage?

Answer: Spiritual preparedness in the following ways will help spouses, families, and individuals benefit from the pilgrimage:

  • Devote additional time to daily prayer, fasting, and scripture reading
  • Attend Mass frequently and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Begin praying for what spiritual graces you would like to receive for yourself, your spouse, family, friends, etc.
  • Request prayers and petitions from your family and friends to bring for veneration of the Holy Door during this special Jubilee Year of Hope.

Question: Will a Catholic priest be present on the pilgrimage, and will there be daily Mass?

Answer: Yes, Father Boby John, C.S.C., will accompany the pilgrimage and serve as chaplain. The Sacrament of Reconciliation and spiritual enrichment will be offered, as well as daily Mass & Rosary.

Question: Will the co-hosts be present throughout the pilgrimage?

Answer: Yes, Craig & Amy Dyke will accompany the group for the duration of the pilgrimage. Evening reflections for the Wine & Cheese Nights will also be offered by Craig & Amy, per the itinerary.

Question: Where does the pilgrimage begin and end?

Answer: Pilgrims will meet at The Father Peyton Center, located at 518 Washington St. in North Easton, MA, on the early morning of Tuesday, June 17. We will return to The Father Peyton Center on the evening of Sunday, June 22, after 6 days and 5 nights in Montreal & Québec City. Pilgrims are responsible for covering their transportation to/from The Father Peyton Center. Convenient and free parking included at The Father Peyton Center.

Answer: Yes, there is a dress code for holy sites. Please be mindful of modesty and the proper clothing that should be worn during the pilgrimage. As a general rule of thumb, shoulders and knees should be covered. For those ladies who would like to wear sleeveless shirts, please simply bring a light sweater, shawl, or wrap to bring along when entering holy sites.

Question: Should I purchase Travel Insurance?

Answer: Family Rosary, USA, has partnered with Travel Leaders as our third-party travel insurance professional. Although purchasing travel insurance is optional, it is strongly recommended. Please note that cancellation will be handled completely through the travel insurance policy, and not through Family Rosary, USA. To request a quote, please complete the digital form above. For any questions, kindly reach out to Jody at jody@tvlleaders.com or call (507) 446-3683.

Question: Will this pilgrimage involve walking?

Answer: Yes, our pilgrimage is considered an active "walking" pilgrimage. Each pilgrim should expect to walk a minimum of 1-2 miles per day, and perhaps more during the scheduled time for exploration and free time. While private motorcoach will be utilized between major pilgrim sites, we will also be on foot extensively, exploring each site, walking up stairs and hills, over cobblestone streets, and on uneven surfaces. Each pilgrim site will vary and may require more walking than others.
